The seasoned trainerspotter will recognise this archival silhouette as the Continental, a no-nonsense all-round fitness sneaker from the ‘80s. Reincarnated in 2018 as the "Continental 80", adidas Originals does not stray too far from the model’s original build, featuring a panelled leather upper attached to a semi-cupsole design with stitched reinforcement at the heel and toe. A midfoot cutout reveals a dense foam midsole providing cushioning, and Stan Smith style outsole for grip. Prominently, this model eschews the idiosyncratic Three Stripes on the side panels and instead features Trefoil branding on the eyestay, tongue and heel.
